TDC Group of Companies Limited Historical Overview

The St. Kitts Nevis Anguilla Trading and Development Company Limited (TDC) is the parent company of a group of diversified companies involved in trading, finance, insurance and tourism related services. Incorporated in 1973, it acquired assets of J.W. Thurston and Company Limited and H. F. Wildy and Company Limited.

These companies, with over one hundred and fifty (150) years of experience in Trading, Development, Agriculture, and Finance provided an ideal vehicle for expansion. In 1974, in an effort to further broaden its trading base, the Company purchased the substantial trading stocks and agencies of A. M. Losada Limited, to meet the growing demands of the day.

In subsequent years, TDC developed a wide ranging portfolio of businesses that includes; Construction and Building Materials, General Hardware, Vehicles and Spare Parts, Agriculture, Finance, Office Equipment and Supplies, and Maritime Supplies.

The Company has also purchased and established several subsidiaries that provide specialized services such as; Aircraft Handling, Shipping and Husbandry Services, Auto Rentals, Hire Purchase Financing, General and Life Insurances, Real Estate Development, Hotel Operations, Tours and Excursions, and Mortgage and Consumer Financing.

As one of the leading business houses in the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis, TDC continues to revolutionize the trading and general business environment through ongoing diversification, acquisitions and joint ventures with numerous regional and international partners. It represents the interests of the Do It Best Corp., BERGER and Harris Paints, Solaris Global Energy Limited, Mitsubishi, Toyota, Chrysler, Suzuki, CANON, IBM, and Thrifty Car Rentals, among others.

This modernisation approach has led to the development of several commercial and residential ventures, namely, the TDC Mall, the TDC Plaza in Nevis, the construction of one of the largest retail spaces in the O.E.C.S; the TDC Home and Building Depots, the Ocean Terrace Inn Renovation Project, the Leeward Cove Condominiums, Sands Complex, the Sunrise Hill Villas, and most recently, the TDC Down Town Plaza.

With high investor confidence, a sound financial footing, and its quest for regional expansion, TDC listed on the Eastern Caribbean Securities Exchange (ECSE) in June of 2003 to give added value to its over two thousand, two hundred shareholders. Today, it is the largest local non-bank enterprise that continues to trade profitably, paying a dividend every year, since opening its doors to the public.

TDC's operations are managed by an experienced board of directors, along with a management team which is knowledgeable, highly skilled and qualified – a group of professionals with a global vision; poised to take the company way in the 21st century, with purpose, and a mission to succeed beyond expectations.
